Jeni• About Hair Loss Hell
Hi, My name is Jeni and I’m the woman behind Hair Loss Hell. Currently I’m 37 and I’ve known I’ve had hair loss since the age of 28, but my hair has been slowly thinning since my early 20s (I just didn’t realize it at the time). I have created this site to document my ongoing struggle with hair loss. The site is called Hair Loss Hell because losing your hair is like a living hell! I know some men and women can lose their hair and say “it’s only hair” but I’m not one of those people – it’s awful.

A little about me: I currently live in Las Vegas, and when I’m not freaking out about clumps of hair falling out everywhere, I do photography, work on my blogs, read, travel, do yoga, play with my 3 cats, and research hair loss.

That’s me in the picture – that picture was taken a few years ago. I know it’s wimpy, but at this moment I don’t feel comfortable posting a lot of pictures showing my hair.

I’ve wanted to create a hair loss blog for a while now, but I wanted to wait until I found the cure for hair loss (or at least my hair loss) so that I could write about my success story. I’m tired of waiting around – I’m obsessed with my hair, and I might as well write about it so that maybe I maybe help others, and get support from people going through the same nightmare. I have Androgenetic Alopecia, but I’ve also had Chronic Telogen Effluvium for years. Most recently I’ve developed a receding hairline, which suggests male pattern baldness (on top of the female pattern hair loss). Awesome:(

• Savvy Skin
For the last several years, I’ve been working on my skin care blog Savvy Skin. During the beginning of my descent into hair loss hell, I also developed bad acne! Miraculously after a few years of trial and error, I was able to cure my acne and learn a lot about anti-aging skin care in the process. So at least I’ve fixed something in my life – I just wish it was my hair!

I wrote a post a few years ago that you can read here on Women’s Hair Loss Project. I will be updating this blog with all sorts of info about me and my hair loss research, but this is a good overview of my hair loss story. Things have gotten a lot worse since then, though!

You can also find me on the Women’s Hair Loss Project Network.

• Disclosure:
Hair Loss Hell is my personal hair loss blog. Please note that I am not a doctor or in the medical field, and it’s prudent to speak with a doctor about your hair loss. The information I give is only my opinion based on my research, and it should not be substituted for a doctor’s advice.

Some of the links and banners on the blog are for advertising purposes and do generate a commission (such as the links to Amazon.com products). These generate income to cover the costs of running the blog. I do accept some free products, and in each blog post, I will tell you where I got the product I am writing about. I buy about 90% of my own products, but if I receive a free product, I will let you know. I will give you an honest review of products and I am not swayed to write a positive review just because I was given something free. On a rare occasion I may write about a product, company, or website because I was paid to do so, but again I will only write honest reviews, and I will only review websites that I find offer value to my readers.
